You Are So Needed

Updated: Sep 9, 2025

“We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.” -Romans 12:6-8

You have been given a great gift by God to use for His divine purpose, and you've likely been given multiple gifts! For many people, those gifts are vastly underutilized. We collectively won’t be at our best without you! You are desperately needed in God’s Kingdom!

It’s critically important that you show up and it’s also very important how you show up.

As we mature, we start to first understand we have a gift, then we begin to use that giftedness, but eventually we learn how to get it right with how we bring what we've been given. We are instructed to give generously, lead diligently, and show mercy cheerfully (v.8).

As you have opportunity to serve, do it generously! Pour in everything you have and go beyond what is expected. Generosity is a powerful multiplier of your gift! Generosity opens doors, blesses relationships, and influences people in memorable ways! Are you generous in the use of your gift?

Then, use your gift diligently! Not inconsistently or casually, but with excellence and applied discipline! Increase the standard and raise the bar of expectation. Diligence allows you to show up every day and continue to be at your best for a long time to come. Diligence leverages the strength of your gift for a greater impact! Are you diligent in the application of your gift?

Finally, use your gift with a cheerful heart! We don’t approach serving as a religious have to, but as a joyful get to! It’s a joy to serve, it's not a job! Bringing a cheerful heart as you serve keeps you fresh, encourages everyone who encounters your joy, and aligns with the joyful sound of heaven (Hebrews 12:22).

Our motivation is Jesus who gave His absolute best in both how He lived and died for you! Because Jesus gave everything while He lived on earth, we can live eternally in heaven! Now you get to use your giftedness to help others experience life eternal in Jesus as well!

You have a gift and we need you to use it! Take care to use it well and bring everything you have so everyone gets to experience all God has for us together!

Right on?
