Then I heard the angel in charge of the waters say: ‘You are just in these judgments, O Holy One, you who are and who were; for they have shed the blood of your holy people and your prophets, and you have given them blood to drink as they deserve.’ And I heard the altar respond: ‘Yes, Lord God Almighty, true and just are your judgments.’” -Revelation 16:5-7

Not thinking or talking about hell and God’s wrath in the short term may seem more convenient, but it’s a disservice to not warn people from pending consequences. The Bible is very clear that there will be eternal punishment for everyone who has not placed their faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior!

God’s wrath was poured out on Jesus, who paid the price for our sins! He willingly paid that price for all who would receive His payment in their place! Some people, however, will refuse the offer and will experience the penalty for their sins for all eternity in hell.

Eternal punishment may seem harsh through our dirty lens of a sin stained world where we all have sinned. However, from the standpoint of a holy and perfectly just God, His judgements are just and true (v.7).

To love people well, we need to tell them about God‘s amazing grace, and the eternal consequences for those who refuse that grace! It’s not unloving to talk about the hard things! It’s actually more loving to warn a perishing world of future consequences if they do not repent!

Thankfully, God generously gave His Son so that whoever believes in Jesus should not perish, but have eternal life (John 3:16). Point people to the love and grace of God, but remember that grace is so amazing because of what we are rescued from in hell. Praise God for His amazing grace!

“The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: ‘The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign for ever and ever.’ And the twenty-four elders, who were seated on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshiped God, saying: ‘We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, the One who is and who was, because you have taken your great power and have begun to reign.’” -Revelation‬ ‭11‬:‭15‬-‭17‬ ‭

There are many incredible organizations and businesses that people have built! They have efficient systems, inspiring buildings, significant financial resources, innovative ideas, and great technology. However, all the things of this world will one day pass away.

God‘s Kingdom, however, will reign forever! He rules an eternal Kingdom!

During our one life here on earth, we get to choose if we will spend our time building worldly kingdoms that will not last or God’s eternal Kingdom that will last forever!

Are you pouring your life, time, and resources into building God’s Kingdom?

Invest well today and you will have all eternity to be grateful you helped build something lasting!

Right on?

A third of mankind was killed by the three plagues of fire, smoke and sulfur that came out of their mouths.

The rest of mankind who were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood—idols that cannot see or hear or walk. Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts.” -Revelation 9:18, 20-21

When Jesus was on earth, He had people who chose not to follow Him even though He was perfect in word and action. Not only did some choose not to follow Him, Jesus had people who were passionately against Him.

Unlike Jesus, we have all sinned and we are not perfect, so why would we think we will get a better result than Jesus?

No matter how hard you pray, how much you work at it, and regardless of how deeply you hope others will choose to follow Jesus, there will be some who will choose to follow the world instead.

This is heartbreaking because we know they are making a terrible trade by choosing the broad road that leads to destruction (Matthew 7:13).

Keep sharing the Gospel, praying for your spiritually lost friends, and continue working to improve your ability to share the Gospel with skill. However, don’t give up when others do not choose life in Jesus! Instead, keep laboring in Kingdom work! Some people will respond and that will make an eternal difference! Don’t give up on people as God never gave up on you!
