Therefore, ‘they are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will shelter them with his presence. ‘Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat down on them,’ nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; ‘he will lead them to springs of living water.’ ‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’  -Revelation 7:15-17

There are many amazing things to see and experience in life! However, life can also be really difficult and filled with pain! Some days are better than others and some people seem to have it better off than other people, but we all experience pain and suffering!

Unless Jesus comes back in your lifetime, you're going to experience a physical death and everyone that you love will also die at some point. The pain can feel overwhelming at times.

So, what’s the good news? Where can you find hope and not sink into hopelessness?

Thanks to Jesus, because He came to live a sinless life, die a criminal’s death on the cross for our sins, and come back from the grave! Because He made full payment for our sin, we can receive salvation by faith in Christ! Then, when we die in Jesus, that is the end of our pain for good! There will be no more hurt, suffering, or death to endure! God will take care of us for all eternity!

All your pain and suffering on earth, no matter how difficult, is only temporary. Because of Jesus, we have an unimaginable amount of great and pain-free days ahead! God has so much for us beyond what we can comprehend!

In Christ, death is the end of your pain, but the beginning of pleasure and joy unending (Psalm 16:11)! When you’re facing hardship, always remember that God’s best is yet to come!

Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first.  Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.  But you have this in your favor: You hate the practices of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.” -Revelation 2:4-6

The sinful practices of the Nicolaitans were not just disliked by our Lord, they were hated!

Some believers feel really bad about the idea of hating anything because God is love (1 John 4:8) and we are called to walk in the way of love (Ephesians 5:2).

Jesus loved us so much that He gave His life for our sins on the cross, but our Lord still hated sin! He knows more than anyone how much pain and brokenness are in the world because of sin.

To not label sin for the evil it is and not hate it is to misalign yourself with Jesus!

Sin is horrible and hated by heaven! God made it crystal clear what sin is in His written Word! Run from it in your life, speak up against it in the world, and yes… hate it because our Lord did as well!

Never stop loving people and never start dismissing sin as no big deal!

Read/listen to Revelation chapters 2-4

Prayer focus: confess any sin to God that has been ignored in your life and ask Him to give you wisdom not to treat sin casually or as anything less than hated by heaven

Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well. It gave me great joy when some believers came and testified about your faithfulness to the truth, telling how you continue to walk in it. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.” -3 John‬ ‭1‬:‭2‬-‭4‬ ‭

Every follower of Jesus benefits from the previous investment of other believers that have gone before them! In our immediate relationship circles and throughout our spiritual lineage, there have been countless people who have prayed for us, taught the Bible to us, encouraged us, modeled faith for us, have been there to answer questions or guide us in our spiritual development! You may never meet many of those people on earth, but their prayers and sacrifices passed the Gospel down to you!

As you succeed in living for Jesus and walking in His truth (v.3), it brings great joy to other believers who have invested in you and been faithful to carry the truth on so that it got to you!

Of course, we live to please God, not people, but it’s helpful to know that our faith significantly encourages other people.

When you remain faithful, it causes great joy for others and spurs on their faithfulness!

As you remain faithful to walk in the truth, your life is a witness to those before you and to those who will come after you! You have a ministry of encouragement and your life preaches a message of truth as you faithfully walk in that truth!

Keep your eyes on Jesus and know that others have their eyes on you!

The lives of others are being encouraged and impacted by Jesus as you faithfully walk in the truth!
